The Ringwood Special Services is a student-centered department that investigates student needs and utilizes evidenced based decisions to employ best practices, while collaborating with and supporting all stakeholders including students, families, and staff.

Mrs. Figurelli is pleased to join the Ringwood District as the Director of Special Services. She has earned both her Bachelor's Degree and Educational Specialist Degree from Seton Hall University, in addition, she has a Master's in Education with a concentration in learning disabilities from William Paterson University. Throughout her career Ms. Figurelli has worked as a teacher of students with disabilities, a LDT-C and most recently a Director of Special Services. She is passionate about helping students reach their full potential and is eager to meet and work with the families in Ringwood.

I have worked in the Ringwood School District for the past nine years in both the Special Services Department and the Board of Education office. Prior to working for the Ringwood School District, I was an Administrative Assistant in corporations such as ThomasNet.com, Computer Associates, Kingston Technology, Newell Rubbermaid and American Cyanamid. I attended Passaic County Community College and Coastline Community College. In the community, I am a volunteer with organizations through my church and the Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey. I am proud to support the students of the Ringwood School District.

I am happy to serve the Ringwood community as a School Psychologist on the Child Study Team. I have a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology, Masters of Art in School Psychology and an Education Specialist degree in School Psychology, all from Rowan University. Advocating for our students and building strong relationships with our families are two of the most important responsibilities I have the privilege of undertaking in the Ringwood community. I am thankful for the opportunity to serve Ringwood’s amazing students and families.

I have had the pleasure of working in the Ringwood School district since 2008. I have had the opportunity to teach in all four schools. My experience began teaching first grade at Peter Cooper. Throughout the years I have taught first and third grade at both elementary schools, as well as the enrichment program. My experience then stretched to teach fifth grade at Hewitt School for several years. I hold a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Psychology and a K-5 Elementary Teaching Certificate. While teaching in Ringwood, I went back to complete my Master’s Degree in Education, concentrating on Students with Learning Disabilities where I obtained my Learning Disabled Teachers Consultant Endorsement. I now have the privilege of currently working as the Learning Disabled Teacher Consultant for the Ringwood Public School District.

I am very excited to be part of the Ringwood community as a school social worker on the child study team. I graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a BA in Psychology. From there, I attended Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, where I received a masters in Social Work. I am a Licensed Social Worker in the state of New Jersey, and I have worked with children and families in educational and clinical settings. I look forward to enthusiastically working with and advocating for the students, families, and staff of Ringwood.

Mrs. Mahan has been a school social worker with experience in public and private education in New York and New Jersey since 2005. She has an undergraduate degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Rhode Island and a masters degree in Social Work from the Wurzweiler School of Social Work at Yeshiva University. She specializes in psychotherapy with children, adolescents and their families.

Mrs. Holman has been working in special education in the New Jersey Public Schools since 2009. She was a self- contained autism teacher for 4 years prior to transitioning into a Behavior Analyst position. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Rowan University and a Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Elementary Education and Special Education from William Paterson University. Mrs. Holman earned her Masters of Arts with a concentration in Special Education and learning consultant endorsement at Caldwell University, and completed her coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis at the Florida Institute of Education. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and a Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant.
In her free time you can find her chasing after her toddler and cheering on her husband at football and track events.
